Estimated time for new connection

Here we discuss a very important question how much time is required for a new mepco electricity connection? First of all one main thing to keep in mind is that there are 3 main categories of Mepco electric supply connection according to load.

1. To get a new connection, just fill out the application form and submit it along with all required documents to the nearest office. After submission of the file of complete documents, the office will provide you a receipt and seniority number for tracking the application status.

2. After the submission of the document an officer will visit the location where a new connection is needed. The applicant will be notified about the situation if the officer feels that a new connection is not required at that location.

3. If setting up a new connection is feasible at the applicant’s location, the office will calculate the estimated connection cost.

4. Once the cost estimation is complete, the office will issue a demand notice. The applicant can either pick it up in person or receive it by mail.

5. The applicant needs to pay the fee mentioned in the demand notice at the bank and submit a copy of the mepco bill payment receipt to the relevant MEPCO office.

6. The applicant must submit a wiring test report, which the relevant office will review and verify.

7. The office will create a priority list of applicants based on the date they submitted their dues.

8. The office will issue a service connection order once all the necessary steps are completed.

9. The office in charge will contact the store to obtain the necessary connection items, such as meters, wires, and installation kits.

10. The store will supply the necessary items to the relevant office.11. Once the office receives the connection items, the SDO or Assistant Manager of Operations will install the new meter connection.
